STOP IN ADVISING ANNOUNCEMENT:

From August 24, 2026, through August 28, 2026, Advising Services will offer two 鈥淪top-In鈥 advising options听听听M - F, 9:00 a.m. 听鈥 听12:00 p.m. and 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.:

  1. In Person听SO-44 Room 113 to meet with the first available advisor
  2. By Phone听(561) 297-2316 to be contacted by the first available advisor. A program sheet will be emailed to your FAU email account, so please be able to access that document for the appointment. 



Stop-In Advising Reasons:听

Stop-In Week Advising is for the below reasons only.听

  • FALL Schedule鈥攊f you need guidance to complete your FALL 2026 classes
  • FALL Transfer Student Advising鈥攊f you have not yet scheduled your initial transfer advising听
    appointment to remove your advising hold and discuss recommended classes for the FALL term
  • FALL Graduation鈥攊f you have any questions related to applying for graduation for the FALL 2026听
    term听

General advising sessions are still available NOW through Success Network听if you would like to finalize听
FALL plans prior to the start of the term. To discuss any future advising, please schedule an appointment听
in the weeks following add/drop.

After August 28,听we will resume standard Navigate appointments.

Welcome to Advising Services for the College of Social Work and Criminal Justice at 探花视频. We are here to guide you on the specific degree requirements necessary to achieve your academic goals. Advising appointments are strongly encouraged each semester to ensure you stay on track and on time for graduation.

Advising appointments must be and are available in three formats:

  1. In Person
  2. Online/Virtual: On a computer, not a mobile device
  3. Phone: With computer nearby

IMPORTANT:For online and phone appointments, make sure you are in a secure, quiet, distraction-free environment where you can take notes. Computer access is required so we can review links and other pertinent information together, whether we are meeting virtually or by phone. Appointments cannot take place while you are working, driving, or engaged in other activities.听

Drop-In Advising sessions are offered during the first week of each semester during Drop/Add week only.

Advice for Students:

  1. Be aware of important dates 鈥 The academic calendar will list dates of add/drop, withdraw, application for degree deadlines.
  2. Attend Class 鈥 You are responsible for any missed information, be sure to see your professor.
  3. Read the Catalog 鈥 The catalog is filled with information about the University and College requirements. It is your responsibility to know the degree requirements for your major.
  4. Get to Know the Faculty 鈥 They are here to help you develop your future.
  5. Changes in Course Titles & Numbers 鈥 Changes do occur; be sure not to repeat a class that you have already taken.
  6. Make wise decisions on managing your time (work, family, school, me).
  7. Balance your course load.
  8. Split up the courses you 鈥渓ike鈥 with courses you don鈥檛 鈥渓ike.鈥
  9. Try to schedule courses you find 鈥渄ifficult鈥 at times you are most energized.
  10. Take responsibility for your choices.
  11. It is your responsibility to check with your academic advisor on your progression through your major.
