There will be four Summer 2026 ceremonies held all day Tuesday, August 11 from 8:30 a.m to 9 p.m. Each Commencement Ceremony will last approximately two hours each. In order to maintain an orderly and dignified ceremony, one that you and your fellow classmates will want to remember, all graduates and their guests are expected to be present for the entire ceremony. As you make your decision concerning your attendance at Commencement, please keep this in mind.

The Freshman Convocation welcomes the incoming class of 2030 to ̽»¨ÊÓƵ. From the welcome by FAU's administrators to the eloquent words of advice from the Distinguished Teacher of the Year, Freshman Convocation promises to be a memorable and exciting start for ̽»¨ÊÓƵ undergraduate students.

Move-in at Florida Atlantic is almost here, and we are excited to welcome our newest Owls and their families to campus in just a few weeks! As we prepare for the start of another academic year, we wanted to share a few important details about the move-in process.

Students and their families should arrive at the Campus Recreation Center on the Boca Raton campus at their scheduled move-in appointment time. The Campus Recreation Center will serve as the centralized check-in location, where students will begin the process of officially arriving on campus and receiving their residence hall keys.

Florida Atlantic Move-In Information

Fall 2026 parking ePermits for students will be available starting August 1st and will expire December 31, 2026. Click here and follow the prompts to register. License plate numbers serve as the vehicle identifier; please be sure all information is correct to avoid receiving a citation. You are allowed up to two vehicles per permit, but only one vehicle may be parked on campus at a time. For more information visit FAU Parking and Transportation Services.

The FALL 2026 Short Term Advance Application from the Office of Student Financial Aid will open on July 27th. The application will be available on the Money Matters page in MyFAU. Students may borrow up to $750.

We are seeking nominations for the Student Talon Award!
This award is bestowed annually during Homecoming Week at the Talon Leadership and Service Awards Ceremony to a student who exemplifies exceptional leadership and service to the University. A selection committee of alumni will evaluate nominees within a broad framework of leadership, looking specifically at contributions to the Florida Atlantic community.

You can view the requirements and submit your nomination by The deadline for nominations is Friday, August 21, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. The winner of the Student Talon Award will be announced at the Talon Leadership and Service Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The recipient of this award will be required to be present at the ceremony to be recognized. The FAU Jazz Orchestra and Chamber Combos, under the Artistic Direction of Dr. Courtney Jones, are ensembles devoted to the performance of original compositions, traditional masterworks, and offers those participating exposure to a multitude of jazz styles and literature. Auditioned based, these ensembles are opened to ALL Majors (attending FAU) who are willing to perform repertoire that crosses different musical aesthetics, innovative, methodologies, and ideological concepts, with an emphasis on improvisation and structure. Due to this approach, some (not all) of the compositions will require its members to double on secondary instruments and to be knowledgeable of the aforementioned. If you play a traditional wind-instrument (saxophone, trumpet, trombone), rhythm-section (piano, guitar, bass, drum-set), and or sing, you are eligible to audition. Auditions are held at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. Any questions, please contact Dr. Courtney Jones for pertinent information.

Offered by the College of Engineering and Computer Science, this course provides an accessible overview of the field of artificial intelligence (AI), with emphasis on contemporary techniques, practical applications, and real-world impact across multiple industries. Students will explore major areas of AI, including machine learning, generative AI, agentic systems, computer vision, natural language processing, and medical diagnosis. The course broadens participants’ understanding of AI foundations, risks, applications, ethical considerations, and societal implications. Through hands-on activities and applied projects, students will gain practical experience using AI tools to solve problems and support decision-making. Guest speakers from multiple sectors will share real-world insights on how AI is transforming their industries and shaping the future of work.

The FAU Department of Emergency Management and the Florida Atlantic Police Department will host in-person Active Threat Training Seminars on all campuses from August 17 to October 1, 2026. All students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to attend. Participants will learn about active threats, their impacts, campus safety resources, and practical preparedness and protective actions. For specific dates, times, and locations, please visit the Upcoming Events webpage of the Department of Emergency Management.

The Outdoor Gear Rental Center at the Recreation & Fitness Center is open this Fall! Our hours are Monday - Thursday from 3-5 pm and Fridays from 10 am - 1 pm! The Gear Rental Center offers paddle and surf boards, yard games, camping equipment, and more to outfit your adventures.
