We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of the fifth and final cohort of NRT students. On August 14, 2026, we gathered to honor their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments, and to wish them every success in their future endeavors.

This exceptional group included eight fully funded students and two non-funded participants, representing a wide range of disciplines. Each student successfully earned a certificate in the NSF–HDR Graduate Traineeship in Data Science Technologies and Applications. Eight members of the cohort completed their master’s degrees, while two are on track to complete their degrees by the end of the fall semester.

Cohort 5’s achievements were truly remarkable. This highly engaged group actively participated in hackathons, earning recognition and awards at several competitions; submitted manuscripts for publication; and took advantage of invited speaker sessions and other professional and academic development opportunities. Several students also completed internships that provided valuable real-world experience, with some receiving offers for future roles.

Congratulations to all our Cohort 5 graduates! As the fifth and final cohort of the NRT program, their accomplishments mark a meaningful milestone in the program’s journey. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and look forward to seeing the many ways they will make an impact as they begin the next chapter of their professional journeys.
